SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Laura Caffey of Alton, who passed away on October 14, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Laura Caffey was born on January 27, 1937; her parents were Frank and Sudie (Dixon) Stockard; she was formerly married to Benny Caffey of Alton; and

WHEREAS, Laura Caffey was a loving mother and homemaker; and

WHEREAS, Laura Caffey was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Cynthia Stockard; her son, Darryl Thomas; her sisters, Dorothy Hickman and Ann Spearman; and her brother, Frank Stockard; and

WHEREAS, Laura Caffey is survived by her son, Gregory K. Stockard; her daughters, Appollonia and Ashley Caffey; her grandchildren, Akira, Gregory, Zandrea, and Cashmeria; her brother, Johnny Mack Donlow; her sister, Ruth Green; her godson, Terrial Clark Butler; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Laura Caffey; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Laura Caffey as an expression of our sympathy.
