SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Richard J. "Rick" Gorman of Godfrey, who
4 passed away on September 26, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born June 6, 1936, in Alton, the son of
6 Daniel E. and Margaret (Brown) Gorman; he married Patricia
7 Stiles on February 8, 1958, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in
8 Alton; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He graduated from Marquette High School in 1954;
10 he was a member of the electrician's IBEW Local 649 for 45
11 years, following in his father's footsteps; he was also a
12 member of the Piasa Pistol Club, an avid reader, canoeist,
13 swimmer, golfer, motor sports fan, and card player; he
14 especially enjoyed spending time with his children,
15 grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and
 
16     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; one
17 brother, Daniel Gorman; and one sister, Patricia Gibbons; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He is survived by his daughters and their spouses,
19 Michelle Gorman, Karen and Richard Buehlman, and Teresa and
20 Mark Woulfe; his son and his spouse, Mark and Tami Gorman; his
21 nine grandchildren, Jackie Gooch, Sgt. Joseph Buehlman, Teresa

1 Buehlman, Mary Buehlman, Samantha Gorman, Sarah Gorman,
2 Patrick Gorman, Jennifer Woulfe, and Richard Woulfe; his two
3 great-grandchildren, Luke and Alex Gooch; his two sisters,
4 Jeanne Edwards and her spouse, Richard, and Margaret Hohnstedt;
5 and one brother and his spouse, Robert and Nancy Gorman;
6 therefore, be it
 
7     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
8 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9 his family and friends, the passing of Richard Gorman; and be
10 it further
 
11     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12 presented to the family of Richard J. "Rick" Gorman as a symbol
13 of our sincere sympathy.
