SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Betty Lou Morris of Collinsville, who passed away on August 24, 2008; and

WHEREAS, She was born on October 26, 1925 in Flora, the daughter of Lossie Morris and Pauline (McCaulley) Morris; and

WHEREAS, She retired from the Morris Agency in Collinsville; she was a member of the Collinsville Library Board for 25 years and also served on the Lewis and Clark Library Board; and

WHEREAS, She attended William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri, the St. Louis Institute of Music, and Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; and

WHEREAS, Betty Lou Morris is survived by her daughter, Cyndi Presson; her son, Jonathan "Chris" Jukes; her grandchildren, Patrick (Rebecca) Presson, Ryan (Sarah) Presson, Jonathan Jukes II Huggins, and Jason Gerald Jukes Huggins; her two great-grandchildren; her sisters, Jean Bauer and Pamela (Gary) Klein; and her brothers, Charles (Nancy) Morris and Eric (Leslie) Morris; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Betty Lou Morris; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Betty Lou Morris as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
