SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John Sternisha, who passed away on June 12, 2008; and

WHEREAS, John Sternisha was born in Joliet; he served his country with bravery and distinction as a member of the United States Marine Corps; and

WHEREAS, John Sternisha retired from of the Maywood Proviso State Bank as the bank's Vice President and Trust Officer; and

WHEREAS, John Sternisha was a member of the Old Timer's Baseball and coached for several years at Troy baseball fields; he also enjoyed gardening; and

WHEREAS, John Sternisha was preceded in death by his parents, Frank J. and Anna Fojut (nee Galajdik) Sternisha, and his brothers, Joseph (Pearl) Fojut and Frank E. (Judith) Sternisha; and

WHEREAS, John Sternisha is survived by his wife, Linda K. (nee Powell); his children, Kelly, Erik, and Alan; his granddaughter, Caitlin; his siblings, Alice (the late Joseph) Valek, Ann (Robert) Mulvey, Theresa (the late Norm) Wittkofski, Michael (Marilyn), Joseph, George (Maryann), Walter (Sherrill), and Pauline (Alan) Mihelich; and his numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of John Sternisha; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Sternisha as an expression of our sympathy.
