SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Paul Henry Delfs of Waukegan, who passed away on June 20, 2008; and

WHEREAS, He was born January 31, 1931 in Lake Forest; he married Virginia Bennett on July 11, 1953 in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Air Force; he was a member of Queen of Peace Church, the Waukegan YMCA, an avid gardener, and loved helping his children; and

WHEREAS, He was retired from the city of Waukegan, after 17 years of employment in the Street Department; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his sister, Madeline "Laney" Fields; and his parents; and

WHEREAS, He is survived by his wife, Virginia; his children, Sharon (Terry) Brisco, Deborah (Keith Pastell) Delfs, Steven (Janet) Delfs, and Gregory (Jessica) Delfs; his grandchildren, Kainna Quill, and Bryan, Blake, and Chelsie Delfs; his great-grandchild, Marissa Quill; his brother, Robert Delfs; and his sisters, Marie Miller and Mary Anne Boyd; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Paul Delfs; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Delfs as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
