SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Raymond C. Whitlock III, of Wheaton, who
4 passed away on June 19, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Whitlock was the art director for Christianity
6 Today Inc., for 15 years and an award-winning designer; he was
7 on staff for 12 years with Tyndale House Publishing Company;
8 and
 
9     WHEREAS, He received his B.A. of fine arts from Northern
10 Illinois University; Mr. Whitlock was born in New York City,
11 but was raised in Rome, Italy, where he graduated from Oversees
12 School of Rome, then came to the United States for college; he
13 was a member of Wheaton Bible Church for over 30 years and
14 attended Evangelical Free Church of Naperville since 2005; he
15 served in both churches in the children's ministries; and
 
16     WHEREAS, He was an extensive world traveler, who also
17 visited the Ukraine, where he taught design classes for those
18 involved in Christian publications; Raymond continually had a
19 great love for art, classical through contemporary; his own art
20 shows were also displayed at various times throughout his life;
21 and

1     WHEREAS, Raymond C. Whitlock III was the beloved husband of
2 Joan (nee Hermsmeier); the loving father of Jason (Erika) and
3 Matthew; the cherished grandfather of August Peter; the fond
4 son of Raymond C. Jr. (the late Lois); and the devoted brother
5 of Barbara (Davide) Baccella; therefore, be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8 his family and friends, the passing of Raymond C. Whitlock III;
9 and be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to the family of Raymond C. Whitlock III as a symbol
12 of our sincere sympathy.
