SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Susan K. Morton, nee Kingsbury, of
4 Joliet, who passed away December 23, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was a graduate of Joliet Central High School
6 and received her B.A. from Northwestern University; she was a
7 long-time member of the Delta Delta Delta chapter and informed
8 high school students about sorority life; and
 
9     WHEREAS, She was a past member of Holly Club and a current
10 member of a local investment club; and she was a member of the
11 First Presbyterian Church; and
 
12     WHEREAS, She taught elementary school and worked as a
13 district sales manager for Holiday Inn; she was Vice-President
14 of Timpco Corporation; and she participated in and donated to
15 medical research studies to help find a cure for multiple
16 sclerosis; and
 
17     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, John and
18 Laura Kingsbury; and her brother-in-law, Edward Purple; and
 
19     WHEREAS, She is survived by her husband, Malcolm Morton;
20 her son, Jeff (Maureen) Petru; her daughter, Katherine Petru;

1 her step-children, Mardee (Gary) Roeber, Mylene Morton, and
2 Mark (Pam) Morton; her two grandchildren, her eight
3 step-grandchildren; her sister, Lynn Purple; and her brother,
4 Paul (Jackie) Kingsbury; therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7 her family and friends, the passing of Susan K. Morton; and be
8 it further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to the family of Susan K. Morton as a symbol of our
11 sincere sympathy.
