SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Encarnacion Jose Vega of Chicago, who passed away on January 4, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Vega met his wife, Juanita, at Loretto Hospital, where they were both employed; she worked as a Certified Nurses Aide and he worked as a Steward in the Nutritional Services Department; they were married on September 20, 1958 at Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Vega was employed at Loretto Hospital for over 50 years, from June 20, 1957 until his passing; he was a dedicated employee who rarely took a day off; and

WHEREAS, Together, Mr. Vega and his wife were the proud parents of Richard, Frank, Gilbert, Thomas, and Maryellen; they were the loving grandparents of Nicholas, Matthew, Mitchell, Michael, Marcus, Ryan, and Gunner; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Vega enjoyed bowling and attending his grandsons sporting events; he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Encarnacion Jose Vega; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Encarnacion Jose Vega as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
