SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Margaret L. Luka of North Chicago, who passed away on March 25, 2008; and

WHEREAS, She was born January 31, 1931 in Kenosha, Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, she was a Girl Scout Leader, and active in golf and bowling; she loved to travel to the family cabin in Crivitz, Wisconsin, and her Friday night outings with her friends; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Luka was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Stanley Podber; and

WHEREAS, She was the beloved wife of Richard T. for 54 years; the loving mother of Thomas J. (Loretta), Barb (Timothy) Hayes, and Patti (Joe) Laken; the dear grandmother of Kristin, Lauren, Allison, Daniel, Sean, Mitchell, and John; and the fond sister of Harriet Brill; many nieces and nephews also survive; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Margaret L. Luka; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Margaret L. Luka as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
