SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Linda Carolyn Sims of Chicago, who passed away on April 3, 2008; and

WHEREAS, She was born on May 7, 1950 to Lillian and Harry Sims; she accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a devout Christian her entire life; she became an ordained Minister in 1987; and

WHEREAS, She loved to sing and excelled in music while attending Hyde Park High School; she loved opera, and earned a scholarship in music to Roosevelt University; and

WHEREAS, Linda gave her hand in marriage to Fulton M. Nealy and together they had four beautiful children; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Sims and Lillian Collins; her stepfather, Robert Collins; and her granddaughter, Kiera Jackson; and

WHEREAS, She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Nealy and Pnakara Nealy; her sons, Fulton Dominic Nealy and Michael Nealy; her brother, Larry A. Sims; her sisters, Dianne Gilder, State Senator Jacqueline Collins, Phyllis Collins, and Barbara Collins; her seven grandchildren; her great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Linda Carolyn Sims; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Linda Carolyn Sims as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
