SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jon Michael Hammer of Murphysboro, formerly of Springfield, who passed away on January 21, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Jon Michael Hammer was born in Springfield on August 23, 1978, the son of Dr. Max and Linda (Williams) Hammer; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hammer was a correctional officer for the Illinois Department of Corrections, Menard Facility at Chester; and

WHEREAS, He was in his senior year at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and graduated from Culver Military Academy; he attended Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, Jon Michael Hammer is survived by his mother, Linda Williams Hammer; his father and stepmother, Dr. Max and Cheri Hammer; his brothers, Grant Elliott Hammer and William Jordan Hammer; his grandmother, Shirley Williams; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Jon Michael Hammer; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jon Michael Hammer as a symbol of our sympathy.
