SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Margaret Purchase; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Purchase was born on December 25, 1940 in Legrand, Alabama; she was the second of four children born to Hosac and Frances Sharpe; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Purchase was educated at Loveless School in Montgomery, Alabama, Melrose Park Grade School, and Proviso East High School; she accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Melrose Park under the leadership of Pastor B.S.J. Ford; she participated in Sunday School and Baptist Training Union; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Purchase was united in marriage to Alfred Purchase, a marriage that remained true and loving throughout their lives; to this union, 5 children were born; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Purchase enjoyed shopping, watching her special shows on television, and the holidays, especially Christmas; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Purchase was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Sharpe; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Purchase is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Alfred; her daughters, Kim (Kevin), Diane (Marvin), and Electra (James); her sons, Rudy and Diamond; her father, Hosac Sharpe; her brother, Hosac (Sandy); her sisters, Edwenna (Leslie) and Sandra; her brothers-in-law, George Purchase (Gracie), Donald Purchase, Orville Purchase, and Johnny Purchase; her sisters-in-law, Theresa Washington, Mary Harris, Lois Howard (William), Barbara McKinney (James), Ellen Purchase, and Darlene Cosey (Robert); her granddaughters, Keonna, Crystal, Chanelle, Candice, and Lauren; her grandsons, James and Julius; her great-grandchildren, Kolby, Erick Jr., and Crista; her aunts, Lottie Chilson, Janie Arrington, Sybil Arrington, and Gladys Arrington; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends; and

WHEREAS, Margaret Purchase will be remembered by all who knew and loved her as a beautiful, loving, and caring mother, not only for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, but for her neighbors as well; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Margaret Purchase; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Margaret Purchase as an expression of our sympathy.
