SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Donald W. Chapman of Peoria, who passed
4 away on March 21, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Donald W. Chapman was born January 22, 1932, in
6 St. Louis, Missouri, to Daniel and Minnie (Swank) Chapman; he
7 married Nancy Riedlinger on April 10, 1954, in Peoria; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Donald Chapman was a Korean War Marine veteran; he
9 worked at Keystone Steel & Wire Company in Bartonville for 30
10 years, retiring in 1981; he was a member of the Bartonville
11 Lions Club, Faith Missionary Church, and was a member and
12 officer with the Independent Steel Workers Union; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He was very active in his community, especially
14 when his children were young; he loved gardening, fishing,
15 traveling, and spending time with his family and grandchildren;
16 and
 
17     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his
18 brother, Robert Chapman; and his sisters, Karen Chapman and
19 Margaret Jones; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Donald Chapman is survived by his wife, Nancy; his

1 daughter, Debra (Toby) Jones; his son, Dave (Karen) Chapman;
2 his grandchildren, Kristen, Kelsey, and Katy Chapman and
3 MacKenzie Jones; his great-grandson, Matthew Jones; his
4 sister, Janet (Jim) Sherlock; and his mother-in-law, Lucille
5 Riedlinger; therefore, be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8 his family and friends, the passing of Donald W. Chapman; and
9 be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to the family of Donald Chapman as a symbol of our
12 sincere sympathy.
