SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Frank Whiting Jr. on January 24, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. was born November 3, 1922 in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. had a distinguished education, having graduated from the University of Illinois, where he was an active member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity; and

WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. served in the Army and the Air Force, serving in both World War II and the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. retired at the rank of lieutenant colonel after 28 years of combined military duty; and

WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. retired from L.F. Rothschild in Chicago, where he had worked for many years as a stock and bond salesman; and

WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. served as a Geneva Township trustee; and

WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. was a long time member and past commander of Geneva American Legion Post 75; and

WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. was a member of many local organizations and a member of the First Congressional Church of Geneva; and

WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. was preceded in death by his first wife, Cynthia; and

WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. was a devoted husband to his wife, Pearl; and

WHEREAS, Frank Whiting Jr. was the proud father of three sons, Frank (Susan), William (Penny), and Timothy (Terri) and grandfather to Paige, Ashley, Amy, Sophie, Jacob, Austin, and Caroline; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the loss of Frank Whiting and his service to the State of Illinois, while at the same time celebrating his legacy; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this preamble and resolution be presented to the family of Frank Whiting with our sincere sympathies.
