SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Wesley Brazas on January 12, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas was born on November 1, 1935 in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas had a distinguished education, having graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in civil engineering; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas served in the United States Air Force; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas was an Illinois-licensed civil engineer and land surveyor; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas began his career by working for the Illinois Department of Transportation, then later worked for the Water Reclamation District in Chicago and the Village of Lombard; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas was a fellow in the American Society of Civil Engineers and a member of the Illinois Professional Land Surveyor's Association; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Hampshire and a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1304; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas was a devoted husband to his wife, Dolores; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Brazas was the proud father of Wesley Jr., Christopher (Joanne), Donna (Philip), Judy, Jeanne (Marc), and Jefferson (Kathy) and the grandfather to 11 grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the loss of Wesley Brazas and his service to the State of Illinois, while at the same time celebrating his legacy; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this preamble and resolution be presented to the family of Wesley Brazas with our sincere sympathies.
