SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Sandy Compton of Carlinville, who passed away on December 20, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Sandy Compton was born on January 12, 1950 in Carlinville; her parents were Wayne J. and Lillian I. Schrader Bates; she married Mike England in 1971; they divorced; she married Rick Compton on July 4, 2002 in Las Vegas; and

WHEREAS, Sandy Compton was a 1968 graduate of Carlinville High School; she was a physical education teacher at Carlinville High School during the early 1980s; she then worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years; she served as the postmaster of Hettick since 1996; and

WHEREAS, Sandy Compton was a member of Carlinville United Methodist Church and the CCC Ladies Golf League; and

WHEREAS, Sandy Compton enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening; and

WHEREAS, Sandy Compton is survived by her husband; her parents; her children, Amy Heffelfinger (Tim) and Eric England (Nichole); her grandchildren, Kassidy Heffelfinger, Ryan Heffelfinger, Rowdy England, Storm England, and Savage England; her brothers, Gary Bates, Ed Bates (Karen), and Frank Bates (Sharon); and her several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Sandy Compton; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sandy Compton as an expression of our sympathy.
