SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Frances Bowers of Memphis, Tennessee, formerly of Centralia, who passed away on December 30, 2007; and

WHEREAS, She was born on January 23, 1947 in Bolivar, Tennessee; she was the daughter of John Henry and Bennie Ruth (Crisp) Jones; and

WHEREAS, She graduated from Lincoln Grade School in Centralia and Hammond High School in Hammond, Indiana; and

WHEREAS, She was employed with U.S. Steel as a computer analyst until her retirement; she was of the Baptist faith; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Butch Jones, Larry Jones, and Seneca Jones; and her sisters, Sharon Addison, Melroy Perry, Marvaline Jones, and Kathye Jones; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Mary Frances Bowers will be deeply felt by those who knew and loved her, especially her husband, Willie Bowers Jr.; her daughters, Tara Jones and Tonya Ordan and husband, James; her adopted son, Trevion Decari Jones-Bowers; her eighteen grandchildren; her sisters, Janet Isaiah and husband, Oscar, and Penny Giboney; her brothers, Johnnie R. Jones, Pierre Simmons and wife, Chris, and John H. Daniels; her special friend, Carolyn Beavers; and many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Mary Frances Bowers; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Frances Bowers as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
