SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Judge Lloyd A. VanDeusen of Waukegan, who passed away on November 1, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Lloyd A. VanDeusen was born June 10, 1917 in Gary, Indiana; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waukegan, a United States Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Waukegan Rotary Club, the Waukegan City Club, the Masonic Lodge and Shrine, and he was also a member and past president of the Lake County Bar Association; and

WHEREAS, Judge VanDeusen served on and was past president of the Waukegan Township High School Board and the Victory Memorial Hospital Board; he received his law degree at Northwestern University and was a member of the Hall, Meyer, Fisher, VanDeusen, Holmberg, and Snook Law Firm; he had served as a Lake County Circuit Court Judge, and he completed his law career as an appellate Court Judge for the State of Illinois; he loved the law, fishing, and golf; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Edith (nee Smith) VanDeusen; and his parents, Leonard and Elizabeth (nee Dent) VanDeusen; and

WHEREAS, Judge Lloyd A. VanDeusen is survived by his children, David VanDeusen, Derek VanDeusen, and Carol VanDeusen (Henry) Lukas; his grandson, Alexander Lukas; and his sister, Lillian George; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Judge Lloyd A. VanDeusen; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Judge Lloyd A. VanDeusen as a symbol of our sympathy.
