SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Judge Lloyd A. VanDeusen of Waukegan, who
4 passed away on November 1, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Lloyd A. VanDeusen was born June 10, 1917 in Gary,
6 Indiana; and
 
7     WHEREAS, He was a member of the First United Methodist
8 Church in Waukegan, a United States Army veteran of World War
9 II, a member of the Waukegan Rotary Club, the Waukegan City
10 Club, the Masonic Lodge and Shrine, and he was also a member
11 and past president of the Lake County Bar Association; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Judge VanDeusen served on and was past president
13 of the Waukegan Township High School Board and the Victory
14 Memorial Hospital Board; he received his law degree at
15 Northwestern University and was a member of the Hall, Meyer,
16 Fisher, VanDeusen, Holmberg, and Snook Law Firm; he had served
17 as a Lake County Circuit Court Judge, and he completed his law
18 career as an appellate Court Judge for the State of Illinois;
19 he loved the law, fishing, and golf; and
 
20     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Edith
21 (nee Smith) VanDeusen; and his parents, Leonard and Elizabeth

1 (nee Dent) VanDeusen; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Judge Lloyd A. VanDeusen is survived by his
3 children, David VanDeusen, Derek VanDeusen, and Carol
4 VanDeusen (Henry) Lukas; his grandson, Alexander Lukas; and his
5 sister, Lillian George; therefore, be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8 his family and friends, the passing of Judge Lloyd A.
9 VanDeusen; and be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to the family of Judge Lloyd A. VanDeusen as a symbol
12 of our sympathy.
