SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Linda Sroka of Niles, who passed away on October 10, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Linda Sroka was born in Chicago on September 15, 1952; she grew up in Niles and graduated from Maine South High School; on August 12, 1972 she married Robert Sroka; and

WHEREAS, Linda Sroka worked in a pediatrician's office, and part-time for the Niles Police Department as a community service officer; and

WHEREAS, Linda Sroka was a recent addition to the Niles Public Library Board, serving as a trustee; she was active in the Maine Township Democrats, the Democratic Women's Club of Des Plaines, and the Northern Illinois Democratic Women's Club; and

WHEREAS, She is remembered as a staple of Senior Citizens Bingo at White Eagle Banquets, where she helped run the program beside her husband; and

WHEREAS, Linda Sroka is survived by her husband, Robert; her grandchildren, Cale Edens and Shea Lynn Edens; her sister, Lorie (Craig) Williams; her niece, Jennifer Williams; and her mother-in-law, Janina Sroka; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Linda Sroka; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Linda Sroka as a symbol of our sympathy.
