SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dorothy Knapp of East Peoria, who passed away on October 28, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Knapp was born on January 8, 1923 in Peoria; her parents were Joseph and Paula (Lichtsinn) Cook; she married Carl H. Knapp on February 28, 1942 in Palmyra, Missouri; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Knapp was an assistant executive director for the Board of Election Commissioners in Peoria, retiring from that position in 1983; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Knapp was a member of the clubs at Neighborhood House; she was a member of Royal Neighbors of America, the Illinois Association of Election Commission Officials, Greater Peoria Chapter of 319 AARP, and the First Christian Church in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Knapp was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, and her sister; and

WHEREAS, Dorothy Knapp is survived by her daughter, Carol A. Knapp; her son, Terry C. Knapp; her grandsons, Nicholas and Derek Knapp; and her several cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Dorothy Knapp; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dorothy Knapp as an expression of our sympathy.
