SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express
3 their sincere condolences to the family, friends, colleagues,
4 and students of Kimberly C. Corcoran of Pingree Grove, who
5 passed away on December 24, 2006; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Kimberly Corcoran was born June 1, 1973 in St.
7 Charles; her parents are Eugene and Joy (nee Cronan) Corcoran;
8 and
 
9     WHEREAS, She was a graduate of Hampshire High School and
10 Concordia University in River Forest; she was pursuing a
11 Master's degree at Concordia; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Kimberly Corcoran was a lifelong resident of the
13 Elgin and Hampshire area; she was a third grade teacher at
14 Sleepy Hollow Elementary School in District 300; and
 
15     WHEREAS, At Sleepy Hollow, she had 26 students in her
16 classroom, and team taught an afternoon class with 25 students;
17 she was coordinator of the mentoring program, pairing students
18 with faculty or staff mentors, organizing weekly visits between
19 mentors and students, and monthly meetings where the children
20 would work on arts and crafts; and

1     WHEREAS, Kimberly Corcoran is survived by her parents,
2 Eugene and Joy Corcoran; her brother, Eugene; her sister,
3 Ashley (Bart) Majors; her nieces, Chelsea Corcoran, and Blake
4 and Rhyan Majors; and her nephew, Benjamin Majors; she was
5 preceded in death by her grandparents, Eugene and Nancy
6 Corcoran, and Thomas and Edna Cronan; and her uncle, Dr. Thomas
7 L. Cronan III; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 all who knew and loved her, the passing of Kimberly Corcoran;
11 and be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Kimberly Corcoran as a symbol of our
14 sincere sympathy at their loss.
