SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express their sincere condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and students of Kimberly C. Corcoran of Pingree Grove, who passed away on December 24, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Kimberly Corcoran was born June 1, 1973 in St. Charles; her parents are Eugene and Joy (nee Cronan) Corcoran; and

WHEREAS, She was a graduate of Hampshire High School and Concordia University in River Forest; she was pursuing a Master's degree at Concordia; and

WHEREAS, Kimberly Corcoran was a lifelong resident of the Elgin and Hampshire area; she was a third grade teacher at Sleepy Hollow Elementary School in District 300; and

WHEREAS, At Sleepy Hollow, she had 26 students in her classroom, and team taught an afternoon class with 25 students; she was coordinator of the mentoring program, pairing students with faculty or staff mentors, organizing weekly visits between mentors and students, and monthly meetings where the children would work on arts and crafts; and

WHEREAS, Kimberly Corcoran is survived by her parents, Eugene and Joy Corcoran; her brother, Eugene; her sister, Ashley (Bart) Majors; her nieces, Chelsea Corcoran, and Blake and Rhyan Majors; and her nephew, Benjamin Majors; she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eugene and Nancy Corcoran, and Thomas and Edna Cronan; and her uncle, Dr. Thomas L. Cronan III; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with all who knew and loved her, the passing of Kimberly Corcoran; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kimberly Corcoran as a symbol of our sincere sympathy at their loss.
