SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Geralyn D. Volkman of Sugar Grove, who passed away on November 14, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Geralyn Volkman was born on September 20, 1959 in Aurora; her parents were the late Paul and Elaine (Jarka) Balika; and

WHEREAS, She was a 1977 graduate of Aurora Central Catholic High School; she worked for Dreyer Medical Clinic, Aurora University, and subsequently formed her own medical transcription company; and

WHEREAS, Geralyn Volkman enjoyed bicycling, running, golfing, and listening to music; and

WHEREAS, Geralyn Volkman was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Michael Balika; and her father-in-law, Gordon Volkman; and

WHEREAS, Geralyn Volkman is survived by her husband of 28 years, Jeff; her sons, Greg and Matt Volkman; her brother, Paul (Kathy) Balika, their son, John (Shere) Balika, and their children, Hallie and Luke; her mother-in-law, Delaine Volkman; her sister-in-law, Sherry (Dale Smith) Balika-Smith and their children, Bradley Balika and Brenton Balika; and her sister-in-law, Nancy (George) Gladis and their children, Michael, Ashley, and Amy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Geralyn D. Volkman; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Geralyn D. Volkman as a symbol of our sympathy.
