SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Louis Liska of Downers Grove, who passed away on July 30, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Louis Liska worked as a contractor for Unique Ceramic Tile; he became an icon in the ceramic tile business, winning many awards, such as the Spectrum Skyline Award; and

WHEREAS, Louis Liska was an amateur limnologist and was very involved in keeping fresh lakes and rivers clean; he was also an avid gardener and a member of the LaGrange Park Rose Society; and

WHEREAS, Louis Liska was a member of many civic and political organizations; he was a member of Our Lady of Peace in Darien, St. John's Council, Knights of Columbus, the Illinois Lake Management Association, the National Tile Contractor's Association, and the Conservation Foundation of DuPage County; he was a charter member of the Downers Grove Township Committeeman's Organization; and he served as a Republican precinct committeeman from 1975 until his death; and

WHEREAS, Louis Liska is survived by his wife, Genevieve; his children, Peter (Debbie), Jeff, and Christine (Edward) Kedaitis; and his nine grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Louis Liska; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Louis Liska as an expression of our sympathy.
