SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ronald D. Fruland of Newark, who passed away on July 12, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Ronald D. Fruland was born September 29, 1929 in Mission Township, LaSalle County to Jesse and Gladys (Hamre) Fruland; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Fruland married Marcia Ann Latkoff on November 27, 1951 in Newark; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Fruland was a Sergeant in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953 and saw duty in the Korean Conflict; he retired from the L.O.F. Glass Factory in Naplate in 1985; he was a 50-year member of the Newark American Legion Post #459, the Newark Lutheran Church, and also held membership in the Newark Fire Department, Newark Sportsman Club, and Sheridan Rod and Gun Club; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marcia; and his brother, James Fruland; and

WHEREAS, Ronald D. Fruland is survived by his daughter, Ronda Thomas; his son, Gary (Susan) Fruland; his four grandchildren, Jessica Thomas, Luke Thomas, Jared Fruland, and Jessie Fruland; and his two sisters, Donna Hilt and Linda Beecher; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Ronald D. Fruland; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ronald D. Fruland as a symbol of our sympathy.
