SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James P. Keagle Sr., former mayor of Wauconda, who passed away on June 18, 2007; and

WHEREAS, James P. Keagle Sr. was born July 1, 1932, in Battle Creek, Michigan; Mr. Keagle served in the Air Force for four years, three years in Germany with Air Force Intelligence; and

WHEREAS, He received a bachelor of science degree from Western Michigan University and continued his education in computers at the College of Lake County and in finance at private and Municipal League seminars; Mr. Keagle was employed for 38 years with the Kellogg Sales Company, where he worked as a food service territory manager; and

WHEREAS, His years of community service contributions include Township supervisor for 12 years; mayor of Wauconda; advisory member of L.C. Alliance for the Mentally Ill; director of Lake County Municipal League; working with NISRA on the handicapped fishing pier, working with PADS at Messiah Church; and helping with the development of boys and girls programs through LYAA; and

WHEREAS, He served as Wauconda Village trustee for six years; he was a member of the Lions Club and Boy Scouts; he was a past president of the Wauconda Park District; and he was a "commissioner" for girls, boys, and men's softball leagues at Lagoon Park in Larkdale; his hobbies were golf and fishing; he was proud to have scored two holes-in-one in golf; and

WHEREAS, James Keagle Sr. was the beloved husband of Sharon (nee Bartel); the loving father of James P. Jr., Janice (Patrick) Stanley, and Tracee; the cherished grandfather of Kelli, Danny, Emily, and Tommy Stanley; and the dear brother of Katherine Reed, Ann Pallett, the late Robert (Ruth), Stanley (Rosemary), Gerald, and Norman (Mary Jo) Keagle; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of James Keagle Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James P. Keagle Sr. as a symbol of our sympathy.
