SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Peter E. "Ed" Frank of Carlyle, who passed away on May 4, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Peter E. "Ed" Frank was born December 20, 1921, in Highland, a son of Edward R. and Rose M. (Tremmel) Frank; he married Beatrice "Bea" Clanton on January 22, 1952, in Highland; he was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific Theatre; and he was a Purple Heart recipient; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Frank was a businessman in Carlyle for 60 years; he was a partner in R.W. Ziegler Jewelry in Carlyle from 1947-1964, when he became sole owner and changed the name to Ed Frank Jewelry; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Frank was a member of St. Mary's Church in Carlyle, the Knights of Columbus, Council 3523, the Highland V.F.W. and the Carlyle American Legion, the Helvetia Sharpshooters Association, the Illinois Jewelers Association, and Jewelers of America; he was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan; and

WHEREAS, Peter Frank was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Daniel Frank; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Peter Frank will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially by his wife, Beatrice; his son, Kevin Frank and his wife, Sharon M.; his daughter, Suzanne Christ and her husband, Richard; his grandchildren, Kevin Frank and his fiancée, Vanessa Wheaton, Krista Frank, and Steve, Laura, and Nicholas Christ; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Peter E. "Ed" Frank; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Peter E. "Ed" Frank as a symbol of our sympathy.
