SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Jane Radostits of Lockport, who passed
4 away on May 11, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Jane Radostits received her law degree in November
6 1985; she decided to be a prosecutor instead of pursuing a more
7 financially rewarding career in private practice; she worked
8 for 11 years as a Cook County prosecutor before accepting a
9 promotion in DuPage County to serve as a deputy criminal chief;
10 she was selected as the Illinois Prosecutors Bar Association's
11 top legal eagle in 2005; she was named a finalist for an open
12 DuPage County associate judge position in 2006 and was vying
13 for two current vacancies before her death; she was the head of
14 the DuPage County State's Attorney's special prosecution unit,
15 which focuses on children and family crimes; she developed a
16 great reputation for her dedication to her work; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Jane Radostits is remembered by all who knew her
18 as a compassionate and courageous person, inside and outside
19 the courthouse, and as a person who always did the right thing;
20 and
 
21     WHEREAS, Jane Radostits is survived by her husband, Frank
22 Radostits; her children, Kate and Frankie Radostits; her

1 siblings, Cathy (Tony) Di Orio and John LaFlamboy; her
2 father-in-law, Frank Radostits; her sister-in-law, Arlene
3 (Thomas) Cohan; her nieces, Melissa and Michele; and her
4 nephews, Mark, John, Brian, Mikey, Kyle, and Tim; therefore, be
5 it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8 her family and friends, the passing of Jane Radostits; and be
9 it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to the family of Jane Radostits as an expression of
12 our sympathy.
