SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened by
3 the death of Frank McCartney Jr. of Pittsfield, who passed away
4 on August 24, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Frank McCartney Jr. was born September 14, 1926 in
6 Summer Hill; his parents were the late Frank and Isabel
7 McGreevy McCartney; and
 
8     WHEREAS, On February 22, 1944 he married Mildred Allen
9 Yokem in Pittsfield; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Mr. McCartney was a 1944 graduate of Pittsfield
11 High School; he farmed with his father after high school in the
12 rural Summer Hill area known as Black Oak; he was also a self
13 employed real estate broker in Pike County; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Frank McCartney was a member of St. Mary's
15 Catholic Church, the Wednesday Night Steak Club, and Country
16 Couples and Pike Promenaders; he was an avid sportsman who
17 loved to hunt quail, bowler, and baseball player with the
18 Griggsville Nighthawks; and he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals
19 fan; and
 
20     WHEREAS, The passing of Frank McCartney will be deeply felt

1 by those who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Mildred;
2 his daughters, Mary Kay Hayden and her husband, John, and
3 Cecelia Marie Nevius and her husband, Michael; his sons,
4 Michael Dennis McCartney and his wife, Diana, Daniel Patrick
5 McCartney and his wife, Jera, Thomas William McCartney and his
6 wife, Marlys, and Richard Wayne McCartney and his wife, Rhonda;
7 his thirteen grandchildren; his thirteen great-grandchildren;
8 his sisters, Mary Loretta McCartney and Agnes Miriam Simms and
9 her husband, Roger; his brothers, William H. McCartney and his
10 wife, Mary, and Daniel O. McCartney and his wife, Phylliss; his
11 great-granddaughter, Taylor McCartney; and his sister, Carrie
12 M. Simmons; therefore, be it
 
13     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
14 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
15 his family and friends, the passing of Frank McCartney Jr.; and
16 be it further
 
17     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18 presented to the family of Frank McCartney Jr. as a symbol of
19 our sympathy.
