SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Eileen McCracken, who passed away on April 5, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Eileen McCracken was born May 10, 1924, in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Eileen McCracken grew up in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago; she moved to River Forest at age twelve and met her future husband, Tom McCracken, whom she married in 1949; she graduated from Trinity High School in River Forest and attended St. Mary's College of Notre Dame, Indiana; and

WHEREAS, Eileen McCracken was well known for her sweet disposition, great acts of kindness, and sense of serenity; her highest priority was to create a warm and welcoming home for her family and her children's friends; and

WHEREAS, Eileen McCracken is survived by her husband, Thomas J.; her children, Jo Ann Gallagher, Tom Jr., Jackie (Sam) Cibula, Dick (Joan), Bill (Diane), Kevin (Annette), Eileen (Bob) Crane, J.R. (Beth), Carolyn (Bill) Lagor, Susan and Amy (Tim) Hangsterfer; and 43 grandchildren; she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Catherine; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Eileen McCracken; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Eileen McCracken as an expression of our sympathy.
