SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of Jack Donald Hatfield of Johnston City who passed way on Saturday, December 30, 2006; and

WHEREAS, He was born on October 9, 1936 in Chittyville to Charles and Martha (Pope) Hatfield; he was united in marriage to Jeanne Helfrich on June 29, 1957 in Johnston City; and

WHEREAS, He was a coal miner for 17 years, last working at the Freeman Four Coal Mine; he also worked for 17 years for General Dynamics, retiring from there; he was a member of the Fin and Feather Club of Freeman Spur and Jansco's Golf Club of Johnston City; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Jack Donald Hatfield has been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Jeanne; his children, Mary J. Hatfield, Donna J. Lawrence and husband, Rob, William J. Hatfield, Karen J. Staples and husband, Butch, and Natalie A. Jamison and husband, William; his grandchildren, Shannon Worak, Bill Hatfield, Heather Hatfield, Sarah and Jacob Lawrence, Ryan and Katlin Lind, Nicole and Brian Staples, and Nathan Jamison; his great-grandchildren, John Ryan Jr., Grace and Aston Worak, and Jerrett Hatfield; his sisters, Ruby Fogle, Helen Humphrey, and Carol Jent and husband, Dean; his brothers, Gene Hatfield and wife, Mary Ann, Earl Hatfield, and Gary Hatfield; his brothers-in-law, Lester "Speedy" Hammonds, George Helfrich and wife, Carol, and Jack Helfrich and wife, Joy; and his nieces and nephews; he was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bill Hatfield; and his sisters, Martha June Hatfield and Barbara Hammonds; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jack Donald Hatfield, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
