SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Lance Corporal Raymond James Holzhauer of
4 Dwight, who passed away on March 15, 2007, in Iraq; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Raymond Holzhauer was stationed at Camp Legune,
6 North Carolina; he volunteered to go to Iraq and was deployed
7 on January 20, 2007 to Camp Taqaddum in Iraq for Operation
8 Iraqi Freedom, where he worked in the armory in small arms
9 repair; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Raymond Holzhauer was born on May 15, 1987 in
11 Pontiac, the son of Raymond V. Holzhauer and Lori J. Fraher;
12 and
 
13     WHEREAS, Raymond Holzhauer attended Dwight schools and
14 graduated from Dwight Township High School in 2005; after
15 graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Raymond Holzhauer was a member of St. Patrick's
17 Catholic Church at Dwight, Dwight American Legion Post #486,
18 and Dwight VFW Post #2608; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Raymond Holzhauer is survived by his father,
20 Raymond V. Holzhauer, and his mother, Lori J. Fraher; his

1 sister, Kirstin Holzhauer; his grandparents, Jim and Ruth
2 Fraher, Ray and Shirley Holzhauer, and Carol and Gary Quigley;
3 his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends;
4 therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7 his family and friends, the passing of Lance Corporal Raymond
8 Holzhauer; and be it further
 
9     RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Lance Corporal
10 Raymond Holzhauer and his willingness to serve his country,
11 which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it
12 further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the family of Lance Corporal Raymond James
15 Holzhauer as a symbol of our sympathy and respect.
