SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Donna J. Vonachen of Peoria, who passed
4 away on March 25, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Donna Vonachen was born on January 30, 1937, in
6 Peoria; her parents were C. Arthur and Edna Cramer Hurst; she
7 married Harold A. "Pete" Vonachen Jr. on May 11, 1957, in
8 Peoria; and
 
9     WHEREAS, She graduated from the Academy of Our Lady and
10 attended Bradley University; she was a member of St. Thomas
11 Catholic Church in Peoria Heights, the Junior League, the
12 Country Club of Peoria, and Pi Beta Phi Sorority; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Donna Vonachen was a former member of the IVY
14 Club; Donna was recognized as first lady of baseball in Peoria;
15 she was an avid Chiefs fan, and kept score at every game; she
16 loved to paint and play cards with her grandchildren and loved
17 flower gardens; her main interest in life was her family and
18 grandkids; and she enjoyed her winters down on Longboat Key;
19 and
 
20     WHEREAS, Donna Vonachen was preceded in death by her
21 parents; and

1     WHEREAS, Donna Vonachen is survived by her husband, Harold
2 "Pete" Vonachen Jr.; her daughter, Mary (Michael) Shadid; her
3 sons, Harold A. "Rocky" Vonachen III, Gregory (Kathy) Vonachen,
4 Daniel (Jennifer) Vonachen, and Mark (Amy) Vonachen; her
5 grandchildren, Megan, Lauren, Abby, Erica, Claire, Michelle,
6 Druschel, Olivia, Jabe, Natalia and Jac; and her sisters, Mary
7 (John) Slevin, and Janice Deane; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 her family and friends, the passing of Donna Vonachen; and be
11 it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Donna Vonachen as a symbol of our
14 sympathy.
