SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael N. Sharwarko of Burbank, who passed away on March 17, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Michael Sharwarko was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy; and

WHEREAS, He was ordained Deacon in 1978 by the Archdiocese of Chicago, and continued to serve the Catholic Church as a permanent Deacon at St. Louis de Montfort Parish in Oak Lawn; and

WHEREAS, He received the Sertoma Man of the Year in 1992 for his community service; and he was the dedicated organizer of the St. Louis de Montfort Food Pantry; and

WHEREAS, Michael Sharwarko was the beloved husband of 60 years to the late Mary (nee Gibson); the loving father of Patricia Chudy, Michael (Dorothy), Daniel (Susan), James (Laura), Joseph, Gerald, Eileen (Larrie) Hokinson, Rita, David (Mary) and the late Robert and John; the special father-in-law to Sue Sharwarko and Jo Ann (Jeffrey) Mahan; the cherished grandfather of 21 and the great-grandfather of 15; the devoted son to the late Mary and John Sharwarko; the caring brother to Walter (Margaret), and the late John (the late Betty); therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Michael N. Sharwarko; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael N. Sharwarko as a symbol of our sympathy.
