SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Jack L. Logsdon, who passed away on
4 February 8, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Jack L. Logsdon was born September 2, 1942, in
6 Franklin County; his parents were Joseph B. Logsdon and Myrtle
7 (Clem) Logsdon; he married Kathy (Straka) Logsdon on June 12,
8 1964, in West Frankfort; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Jack Logsdon was a member of the United Mine
10 Workers of America and served with the National Guard for four
11 years; he had worked for the Old Ben Coal Company for 25 years
12 and was a member of the Thompsonville Church of God; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Jack Logsdon loved listening and playing music; he
14 played music with a group called The Weekenders on Saturday
15 nights at the Thompsonville Lion's Club; and
 
16     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; a
17 grandson, Matthew Smelcer; his nephew, Monte Logsdon; his
18 nieces, Shawna and Tasha Clower; and his sister, Loma Johns;
19 and
 
20     WHEREAS, Jack L. Logsdon is survived by his wife, Kathy;

1 his daughter, Terri Reagan; his son and his wife, Heath and
2 Dawn Logsdon; his grandchildren, Casey Finney, Ryan Smelcer,
3 Kaydee Norris, Austin Norris, Emily Pritchett, Hayden Logsdon
4 and Whitney Batterson; his great-grandchildren, Jaxson and
5 Alaysah; his sisters, Betty May, Debbie Logsdon and companion,
6 Jeff Richardson, and Rhonda Clower and her husband, John; his
7 brothers, Jim Logsdon and Mike Logsdon and his wife, Lana; his
8 mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wilma and Charles Straka; his
9 sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kim and Ralph Ledbetter; and
10 his several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
11     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
12 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
13 his family and friends, the passing of Jack L. Logsdon; and be
14 it further
 
15     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16 presented to the family of Jack L. Logsdon as a symbol of our
17 sympathy.
