    Amends the Counties Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning classification of health departments.

1     AN ACT concerning local government.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing Section
5 5-25002 as follows:
 
6     (55 ILCS 5/5-25002)  (from Ch. 34, par. 5-25002)
7     Sec. 5-25002. Classification of departments. County and
8 and multiple county health departments established under this
9 Division may be classified by the Director of Public Health in
10 accordance with standards relating to programs, and
11 performance. The State Department of Public Health is
12 authorized to promulgate rules and regulations setting forth
13 minimum standards for programs and performance, including
14 regulations in which the State Department of Public Health
15 shall require provision of home visitation and other services
16 for pregnant women, new mothers and infants who are at risk as
17 defined by that Department that encompass but are not limited
18 to consultation for parental and child development,
19 comprehensive health education, nutritional assessment, dental
20 health, and periodic health screening, referral and follow-up;
21 the services shall be provided through programs funded by
22 grants from the Department of Public Health from appropriations
23 to the Department for that purpose. The Department is further

1 authorized to prescribe minimum qualifications for the
2 professional, technical, and administrative staff.
