HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Olney Lady Cubs on winning the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association Class L State Championship on January 26, 2008; and

WHEREAS, The Lady Cubs beat the O'Fallon (Fulton) Lady Panthers 63-56 at the title game held at Rend Lake College; and

WHEREAS, The championship game featured twelve second-half lead changes and went into overtime; the team set a school record with its season of twenty-five wins and only one loss; and

WHEREAS, Heather Ernst led all scorers with twenty points, including fourteen in the first half of the game; and

WHEREAS, The Head Coach of the Lady Cubs is Norm Henderson; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Olney Lady Cubs are Heather Boose, Courtney Allen, Christina Bailey, Bretta Waggoner, Heather Ernst, Tailer Miller, Kendall Gayer, Aspen Rowe, Hannah Nix, MaKenzie Sechrest, Gina Volk, Katie Flickinger, Whitney Harrison, and Elizabeth Walker; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Olney Lady Cubs on their impressive season and championship win; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Head Coach Norm Henderson and the Olney Lady Cubs as a symbol of our respect.
