HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Loren Brown on his many accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, Loren Brown was born on October 20, 1921 in rural Cantrall to Albert Chandler and Marie Ahrenkiel Brown; and

WHEREAS, Loren Brown worked as a mixed grain and livestock farmer until his retirement on property near the land his great-grandfather purchased in the 1850s; and

WHEREAS, Loren Brown served on the Athens School Board, including service as President, during the 1950s; he also served as a Fancy Creek Township official for 26 years, serving as a Township trustee and as Township Supervisor; and

WHEREAS, Loren Brown served faithfully as the doorman for the Illinois House of Representatives from March of 1999 until May of 2001; and

WHEREAS, Loren Brown joined the Sherman Methodist Church after his marriage and has been active with the church in many capacities; and

WHEREAS, Loren Brown married Lola Perkins of Sherman in 1942; together, they raised 5 children, Myrna (Gareth) Golay, Lyla (Don) Eggleston, Gary (Jill) Brown, Byron (Nancy) Brown, and Craig (Donna) Brown; they have 4 grandchildren, Megan (Marco) Rousonelos, Jeff Brown, Zach Brown, and Alex Brown, and one great-grandson, Darek Rousonelos; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Loren Brown on his many accomplishments and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Loren Brown as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
