HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Joshua Crackel of North Aurora on the occasion of his achievement of the coveted rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, Joshua Crackel was born on May 14, 1989 in Phoenix, Arizona; his parents are Clinton and Michele Crackel; he has 2 brothers, a sister, and 6 nieces and nephews; and

WHEREAS, Joshua Crackel moved with his parents to Minnesota in 1991 and resided in the towns of Hastings and Inver Grove Heights; he also lived in White Bear Lake, where he began school and joined the Cub Scouts; in 1998, Joshua Crackel moved with his parents to Illinois, living in Naperville before their move to North Aurora; he joined Boy Scout Troop 514 in Warrenville in 2000 at the age of 11, remaining with the troop through his 18th birthday in May 2007; and

WHEREAS, Joshua Crackel has been an active member within his community; he is an active member of Batavia United Methodist Church; he has served on church youth summer trips to eastern Kentucky and Slidell, Louisiana, where he helped to improve the homes of many needy families; he also assists with many other church duties during services, including the operation of the church's sound board; and

WHEREAS, To earn the designation of Eagle Scout, Joshua Crackel was charged with the cleaning and improvement of his church's flower beds, a task requiring over 100 hours of effort; he managed to complete this daunting task while maintaining a 3.5 grade point average and working a part-time job; and

WHEREAS, Joshua Crackel currently lives with his parents in North Aurora and is a senior at West Aurora High School; he plans to pursue a college degree at a university within the State; and

WHEREAS, Joshua Crackel's dedication to his community and country and his willingness to help those in need makes him a model for the citizens of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Joshua Crackel for his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Joshua Crackel as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
