HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James
4 "Shib" Glenn Miller of Sesser, who passed away in the line of
5 duty on July 27, 2007; and
 
6     WHEREAS, James "Shib" Glenn Miller was born on August 28,
7 1963, in Franklin County Hospital in Benton to Mary
8 Eubanks-Miller Morefield and James Miller; he grew up in
9 Sesser; he had a distinguished career with the Sesser Fire
10 Department, where he worked as a volunteer firefighter for
11 almost 22 years; he was a proud firefighter and gave of himself
12 to keep the community safe; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He was a member of the First Baptist Church in
14 Sesser; James also enjoyed spending time watching the St. Louis
15 Cardinals, and was considered by many as one of their most
16 loyal and enduring fans; and
 
17     WHEREAS, James Miller was preceded in death by his late
18 grandparents, Cecil and Tincey Eubanks, Glenn Miller, and Floyd
19 Coffman; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Marion
20 Byers, and his cousin Russell Miller; and
 
21     WHEREAS, James Miller is survived by his wife, Sherry

1 Miller, and daughters, Misty and Jenny Miller; his father,
2 James (Carolyn) Miller, and his mother, Mary Eubanks-Miller
3 Morefield; his grandparents, Wanda Coffman and Art and Mary
4 Todd; he is also survived by his brothers, Kevin (Becky) Miller
5 and Steve Miller, and sisters, Missy (Rob) Knight, Megan (Zach)
6 Rounds, and Mallory Miller; his nieces and nephews, Tim and
7 Bethany Miller, Brittany and Mariah Miller, Kylan, Brianna, and
8 Cyler Knight, and Maya Rounds; he is also survived by his dog,
9 Lady; he is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins;
10 therefore, be it
 
11     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
13 mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of this
14 brave firefighter, James "Shib" Glenn Miller; and be it further
 
15     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16 presented to the family of James "Shib" Glenn Miller as a
17 symbol of our sympathy and deep respect.
