HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Agnes Vivod on the occasion of her 90th birthday on August 6, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Agnes Vivod was born on August 6, 1917 in Old Mines, Missouri; her parents are Frank and Alphia (Bourisaw) Thebeau; she married Frank Robert Vivod on January 1, 1936 at Sacred Heart Church in Granite City; and

WHEREAS, Agnes Vivod moved from Old Mines, Missouri to Granite City, where she attended St. Joseph Grade School and Granite City High School; after the death of her mother, she and her siblings were sent to live at Catholic Children's Home for 2 years, then went back into the custody of her father; and

WHEREAS, Agnes Vivod was a housewife for most of her life, until the death of her husband in November 1985; following his death, she entered politics, completing his term as a Madison County board member; she worked as Democratic committeeman until 2005; and she has been a member of the Collinsville Township Democratic Club for over 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Agnes Vivod is currently an active member of the Collinsville Township Senior Citizens' Center, where she works diligently to acquire computers and raise funds to operate the center; she still lives in her own home and enjoys such activities as cutting her grass, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Agnes Vivod has five siblings, Joseph, Robert, James, Lillian, and Dolores; four children, Ronald Francis, Sharon Marie, David Terrence, and Cathy Lynn; six grandchildren, Steven, Teresa, Robert, Christine, Erica, and Karen; and five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Ashlee, Collin, Morgan, and Sophia; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Agnes Vivod on the occasion of her 90th birthday and wish her continued good health and success in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Agnes Vivod as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
