HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor the men and women who work so hard to prepare the Germantown Spassfest each year; and

WHEREAS, The 40th annual Germantown Spassfest will open at 6:30 pm on Friday August 17th, 2007; Friday night will have a band, games, rides, food, beverages, and fun for everyone; and

WHEREAS, Saturday, August 18th will be a very full day of Spassfest beginning at 11 a.m.; continuous music will be heard from 11 a.m. until 1 o'clock Sunday morning in the Biergarten; and

WHEREAS, The Quilt Auction, Tractor & Car Show, Washer Tournament, Bingo, Polka Mass and other events will be held throughout the Spassfest celebration; this year there will also be a parade beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday; and

WHEREAS, Sunday, August 19th there will be breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m., with the 2007 Spassfest closing after the raffle grand prize drawing; and

WHEREAS, The Spassfest was founded in 1968 by the Germantown Community Development Association; the first president was Ben Buenemeyer, vice president was Dr. Valerian Eversgerd, the secretary was Tom Lampe, and the treasurer was James Lampe; the current members of the Association are president Keith Knobeloch, vice president Don Albers, secretary Darlene Beer, and treasurer James Lampe II; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the hard workers that make Spassfest a yearly event celebrated by many, and we wish the citizens of Germantown a great time as they enjoy Spassfest; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Germantown Community Development Association as a symbol of our respect.
