HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Mary Ann Kitt-Henry on her retirement from the Chicago Park District and the Chicago public schools; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Kitt-Henry worked at McKiernan Park, O'Halleran Park, and Munroe Park; she worked in the recreation department at Soldier Field in Chicago, where she ran the boxing program and sat ringside during the fights; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Kitt-Henry started with the Chicago Board of Education in 1977; she worked at the Ethan Allen School, Gladstone Elementary School, and Bontemps Elementary School before going to Nightingale Elementary School in 1984; at Nightingale School, she worked as school clerk, where she was responsible for payroll, the school budget, and the day to day operations of the school; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Kitt-Henry enjoys traveling and exploring the world; she is an avid supporter of QVC; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Kitt-Henry married her lifelong friend, the late John Henry; she is a member of a proud Irish family, including her parents, Joe and Delores Kitt; her siblings, Nancy, Mary Joe, Mary Beth, and Ed; and her cute little Yorkshire Terrier, Callie; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mary Ann Kitt-Henry on her retirement and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mary Ann Kitt-Henry as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
