HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Ron Schaefer on his retirement from the St. Clair County Court Services and Probation Department, 20th Judicial Circuit, on June 30, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Ron Schaefer has worked for the St. Clair County Court Services and Probation Department, 20th Judicial Circuit for 31 years; he began his career as a corrections officer, then was promoted to probation officer, then to Deputy Director; he has served as Director of Probation and Court Services for 17 years; and

WHEREAS, As Director of Probation and Court Services, Ron Schaefer helped start the Community Service and Collections Unit, the Domestic Violence Unit, the SHOCAP Unit, Drug Court program, and the Sex Offender Case Load program; and

WHEREAS, Ron Schaefer is a member of the Illinois Probation and Court Services Association, where he was a recipient of the Gene Hughes Award, an award given to the person who exemplifies the highest standards of the profession, in 1995; and

WHEREAS, Ron Schaefer is married to Margie; he has one daughter, Angie; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Ron Schaefer on his retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Ron Schaefer as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
