1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for the
5 people of the State of Illinois; and

6     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
7 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Patrick and
8 Elizabeth Simmons on the occasion of their fiftieth wedding
9 anniversary on April 27, 2007; and

10     WHEREAS, Patrick William Simmons and Elizabeth June Potts
11 were married on April 27, 1957 at Blessed Sacrament Church in
12 Belleville; they currently live in Bourbonnais; they enjoy
13 traveling and camping together; and

14     WHEREAS, Patrick and Elizabeth Simmons have three
15 children, Susan Simmons, Peggy (Chris) Hendron, and Timothy
16 Simmons; and five grandchildren, Timothy Simmons, Laura
17 Simmons, Lisa Simmons, Sean Hendron, and Christine Hendron;
18 therefore, be it

19     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
21 congratulate Patrick and Elizabeth Simmons on the occasion of

1 their fiftieth wedding anniversary and wish them continued
2 happiness and good health in the future; and be it further

3     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to Patrick and Elizabeth Simmons as a symbol of our
5 esteem and respect.
