HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate George Andros (Georgie Porgie) on his success in the music industry; and

WHEREAS, Georgie Porgie is a singer, songwriter, recording artist, record producer, independent dance music recording mogul, and dance-music remixer from Chicago, where House music originated; and

WHEREAS, His uplifting songs of love, life, and strength reflect the hopes and dreams of many people; he currently records on his own independent labels, Music Plant and Vinyl Soul; and

WHEREAS, His songs include: Let the Music Pump You Up, I'm In Love, Don't Want You, Love Story, and I Believe, which propelled him up the music charts and onto dance floors everywhere, including at least 15 different countries; and

WHEREAS, "Life Goes On" was the single that ensured his place as an artist that would go far; the single went to number one on the International Dance Charts, number five on Billboard's Hot Dance Music Charts; Georgie Porgie has performed across the globe for his many fans and has deals with Warner Brothers and MCA Records; and

WHEREAS, Georgie Porgie was instrumental in the production of the television show "Turn It Up America", featuring the newest dance artists and their chart-topping songs, which debuted April 26, 2007 on WGN-TV; and

WHEREAS, Georgie Porgie will be celebrating his birthday on May 13, 2007; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate George Andros (Georgie Porgie), on his success in the music industry and wish him continued good fortune in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to George Andros (Georgie Porgie) as a symbol of our respect.
