HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate George Andros
4 (Georgie Porgie) on his success in the music industry; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Georgie Porgie is a singer, songwriter, recording
6 artist, record producer, independent dance music recording
7 mogul, and dance-music remixer from Chicago, where House music
8 originated; and
 
9     WHEREAS, His uplifting songs of love, life, and strength
10 reflect the hopes and dreams of many people; he currently
11 records on his own independent labels, Music Plant and Vinyl
12 Soul; and
 
13     WHEREAS, His songs include: Let the Music Pump You Up, I'm
14 In Love, Don't Want You, Love Story, and I Believe, which
15 propelled him up the music charts and onto dance floors
16 everywhere, including at least 15 different countries; and
 
17     WHEREAS, "Life Goes On" was the single that ensured his
18 place as an artist that would go far; the single went to number
19 one on the International Dance Charts, number five on
20 Billboard's Hot Dance Music Charts; Georgie Porgie has
21 performed across the globe for his many fans and has deals with

1 Warner Brothers and MCA Records; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Georgie Porgie was instrumental in the production
3 of the television show "Turn It Up America", featuring the
4 newest dance artists and their chart-topping songs, which
5 debuted April 26, 2007 on WGN-TV; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Georgie Porgie will be celebrating his birthday on
7 May 13, 2007; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10 congratulate George Andros (Georgie Porgie), on his success in
11 the music industry and wish him continued good fortune in the
12 future; and be it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to George Andros (Georgie Porgie) as a symbol of our
15 respect.
