HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives of citizens of the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Andy Busch is retiring from the Mahomet-Seymour Board of Education after 24 years of service; he was elected to the Board in November of 1983, just days before his daughter, Rachel, was born; and

WHEREAS, He served as President of the Board from 1993-2005 and is currently the Board Vice-President; he has worked with three superintendents: Lee Rodgers, John Alumbaugh, and Keith Oates; and

WHEREAS, Andy Busch and his wife, Dana, have been married 26 years; their daughter, Rachel, graduated from Mahomet-Seymour High School and Oklahoma State University, and currently resides in Stillwater, Oklahoma; and

WHEREAS, Andy Busch has always based his decisions on what was best for the students; he has voted for things that he personally opposed, but knew were best for the students; as a product of the school system, he has always been able to bring a "historical" perspective to board issues; and

WHEREAS, Andy Busch has seen many demographic changes during his tenure on the Board of Education; during his time serving on the Board of Education, the district has grown almost fourfold; he has overseen numerous referenda and building programs and fostered the high standards of learning for which the district is now well known and proud; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Andy Busch on his retirement and wish him the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Andy Busch as a symbol of our respect.
