HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, On May 27, 2007, at Carver Center in Galesburg, a
3 reception will be held honoring the life and work of Mrs.
4 Willabell Hall-Williams of Galesburg; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mrs. Hall-Williams is a lifelong member of the
6 Galesburg community; she has served on several boards,
7 including St. Mary's Hospital, the United Way, American Red
8 Cross, Farmers and Mechanics Bank, and others; she was a
9 volunteer at Cottage Hospital for many years; and
 
10     WHEREAS, She held an administrative role with the Carver
11 Center from 1950 to 1962; she worked in District 205 as a
12 teacher and counselor for 24 years; she also taught at Knox
13 College as an academic counselor for over two years; and
 
14     WHEREAS, She was an elected official, serving on the board
15 of School District 205; she is a past president of the
16 Galesburg Fire and Police Commission, the Public Library Board,
17 the YMCA, Delta Kappa Gamma-Alpha Rho Chapter, and the Phyllis
18 Wheatley Club; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Willabell Hall-Williams is a graduate of Knox
20 College and Western Illinois University; she was the recipient
21 of an honorary degree from Knox College; she is a member of

1 Immaculate Heart of Mary Church; she is a past president of the
2 Ladies of Mary Altar Society and an Extra Ordinary Minister of
3 Holy Communion; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Willabell Hall-Williams is deserving of this
5 honor, for her hard work and devotion to others; therefore, be
6 it
 
7     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
9 congratulate Mrs. Willabell Hall-Williams and wish her
10 continued success in the future; and be it further
 
11     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12 presented to Mrs. Willabell Hall-Williams as a symbol of our
13 respect.
