HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for the people of the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate James and Virginia Kintz on the occasion of their fiftieth wedding anniversary, May 11, 2007; and

WHEREAS, James Kintz served in the United States Army and has worked in law enforcement for over 40 years, including the Illinois State Police and the St. Charles Police Department; and

WHEREAS, James excelled in the field of crime prevention and served as a domestic violence investigator; he is a volunteer instructor for the 16th Judicial Circuit Family Violence Coordinating Council and a volunteer for Lazarus House; he plays competitive softball at the age of 72; he is active in his church, St. John Nuemann; and

WHEREAS, Ginny Kintz is the Office Manager for Country Companies; she raises donations for the Life Center in Elgin and raises donations for various food pantries; she is active in her church, St. John's; and she has volunteered for the park district; and

WHEREAS, James and Virginia Kintz met at Depaul University, where Ginny was voted campus cutie; they were married at Our Lady of Mercy in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, James and Virginia Kintz have 4 children, Sue Perna (Dan), Mike Kintz (Melinda), Bob Kintz (Mary), and David Kintz (Heidi); and they have 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Perna, Caitlin Perna, Domenic Perna, Michelle Perna, John Kintz, Rachel Kintz, Alex Kintz, Bryant Kintz, Austin Kintz, Ainsley Kintz, and David Kintz; and

WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its highest plateaus when a couple such as James and Virginia Kintz celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and

WHEREAS, James and Virginia stand as examples of the best of our society, and their love and devotion to each other and to their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that hard work, dedication, and love can make a difference in today's world; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mr. and Mrs. James Kintz on the occasion of their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children and grandchildren, and rich in friendships; and that we wish them happiness and good health in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to James and Virginia Kintz as an expression of our respect and esteem.
