HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor Richard Pellegrino on receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Italian American Political Coalition; and

WHEREAS, Richard Pellegrino served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was discharged as Sergeant E-5; he received a commendation medal for meritorious service in Vietnam; he received a Bachelors of Arts degree from Loyola University in 1975 and a Master's degree in 1985; he received his Juris Doctor degree from Washburn School of Law in 1978; and

WHEREAS, Richard Pellegrino was admitted to the Illinois Bar and established a law practice in 1979; and

WHEREAS, Richard Pellegrino served as Commissioner of the Cook County Sheriff's Police and Corrections Merit Board for four years; as Commissioner of the Illinois Supreme Court ARDC Inquiry Board; as an advisory member of Triton College's nine person financial committee; as a prosecutor for the Illinois Secretary of State; and he served as a member of the legislative and executive committees of the West Central Municipal Conference, where he also served as president of the 37 municipalities which comprise the conference; and

WHEREAS, Richard Pellegrino is the Mayor of Indian Head Park, where he previously served as Commissioner of Planning and Zoning, and Trustee; and

WHEREAS, Richard Pellegrino maintains memberships in the American Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association; he also maintains membership in the Justinian Society of Lawyers and the National American Bar Association; and

WHEREAS, Richard Pellegrino is the proud husband of Peggy; he is the proud father of Michael, Danny, Joey, and Rachel; the family belongs to St. John of the Cross parish; and

WHEREAS, Richard Pellegrino will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Italian American Political Coalition on March 28, 2007; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Richard Pellegrino on receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Italian American Political Coalition; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Richard Pellegrino as a symbol of our respect.
