HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, David Patrick Conroy, a member of St. Monica Boy Scout Troop 943, student of Fenwick High School, and an outstanding citizen of Chicago's 45th Ward, will be awarded scouting's highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout will be bestowed upon David Patrick Conroy by the Boy Scouts of America at a Court of Honor ceremony on January 10, 2009; and

WHEREAS, David Patrick Conroy's parents, Lydia and Patrick Conroy, his grandmother, Mary K. Conroy, his siblings, Christina Conroy and Claire Eileen Conroy, and his Scoutmaster, Mike Kelly, are all exceedingly proud of his accomplishment; and

WHEREAS, Attaining the rank of Eagle Scout is achieved by only two percent of boys enrolled in the scouting program; in order to become an Eagle Scout, a scout must earn 21 merit badges in addition to completing several community service projects; David Patrick Conroy has completed all of the requirements and has been examined by an Eagle Scout Board of Review, which has certified his worthiness for this highest scouting distinction; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate David Patrick Conroy on the occasion of being awarded the rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to David Patrick Conroy as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
